WhatsApp New Feature

Whatsapp has once again been seen to test new features in Android for its beta build. This time, we see changes in our shared ‘Media’ section within a group or individual chat, with new options to view the media in chat, to set the media as a profile photo, group icon, or wallpaper A new overflow menu, as well as a new single rotate option. Overall, the effect of simplifying the media menu has been seen in the changes so that the number of options viewed can be reduced. To remember, Whatsapp was recently seen with 21 new emoji designs in an Android beta build, and before that, a group call shortcut option was rolled out to users with a stable build.

Let’s start with the new Shared Media options. As mentioned by WhatsApp beta build tracker, WABetaInfo, for Android Beta v2.19.18, Whatsapp Re-started the options seen in the user’s section of the users or individual chat group. Users browsing the media section in the media section will now see new options on taping the three-menu menu button. These are ‘show in chat’, ‘set as …’ and ‘rotate’. The first option lets you see where that particular image or video was shared in individual or group chat.

‘In the form of set’ is not really new, but ‘set as profile photo’, ‘set as group icon’, and ‘use as wallpaper instead of different options for images Instead, the menu has been simplified, and users can now view ‘My profile photo’, ‘group icon’, and ‘wallpaper’ in the form of target locations ‘as the set …’ overflow Tap on the menu.

Finally, the ‘rotate’ option is not new, but instead of ‘rotate left’ and ‘rotate right’ seen in the previous build, users can tap rotate multiple times to achieve the same effect. As we mentioned, WABetaInfo was meant to spot the first changes, and for them, Android Beta v2.19.18 build (APK link) in WhatsApp as well as later in a build – v2.1.1.21 Can see well APK link)

To remember, Whatsapp v2.19.21 for Android Beta includes 21 revised emoji, something we reported earlier this week. There was not much new with Build, though WABetaInfo noted that the remote activation of the fingerprint authentication feature was spotted in the previous beta build (as ‘disabled by default’).
