Instant Messaging Platform Whatsapp is testing a new feature that will help users easily connect with businesses. According to WABetainfo’s website, which tracks Whatsapp updates, this feature has been spotted, but it is not available yet because it is under development. According to the screenshots shared by WABetainfo, the ‘Search businesses’ option will appear under the ‘New’ chat window, where ‘New group’ and ‘New contact’ options are listed. There is no more information about how this will work. The report says, “We expect about the next beta update that more information about this feature will be revealed.”
Recently, Whatsapp rolled out UI-based changes in their app, including new icons along with the settings menu. It was also revealed that this new layout will be build number 2.19.47 in the next Google Play release.
To remember, no new features are included in app update (v2.19.45) but providing a cleaner look. Whatsapp has removed lines that differentiate different options in the settings menu. In addition, it has added sections under each option. Under the Account Options, icons have also been added to all categories – Privacy, Security, Two-Step Verification, Change Number, Request Account Information and Delete My Account – Not Before Even ‘security’, number change number ‘and step-to-step verification’ screens have redesigned icons. The icons in the ‘Help’ section are now also dedicated.
Under Offers Offers and Storage Uses’, Whatsapp now provides a precise breakup of data sent under the main header, received and storage. In addition, under the Network Usage option, the list of bytes has been replaced with six types of data – calls, media, Google Drive backup, message, status, and roaming.
