Xiaomi is preparing to launch its latest flagship smartphone, Mi9 on 20 February in China. With its launch in the construction of Mobile World Congress 2019, the Chinese smartphone maker will be one of the first manufacturers to unveil its flagship for the year, even other manufacturers will be preparing for the summer launch. Thanks to some official images posted on Weibo, we now have an initial look at the new device, while the images also remove some key features of the new phone. Separately, a blogger has posted a leaked image claiming to be Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition.

A few handfuls of images and a small video have been posted on the Chinese social media website Weibo by the verified account of Xiomai’s CEO Lei Jun, giving the renders validity. Images give us a good look at what we expect from a new phone; Specifically, note that Triple camera set up in the rear is set up. The front of the phone is not shown in the render, and behind an interesting gradient shows the blue and green color, as reading holographic illusion Blue from post reading. Further describing a “nano-scale laser holography process, plus double layer coating” as a responsible for “color of rainbow” and “unconscious […] metal glow”.

Xiaomi Mi 9 is to be launched on February 20, which is similar to the launch event of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series. According to rumors, Mi 9 Explorer Edition can also be launched on the same day. This variant of the phone has been asked to play quad-camera setup in the rear. An informal render of this has also emerged, but we will wait till the official launch before confirming it.

The phone is likely to be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, as well as it is rumored to come with 27GB Fast Charging. Xiaomi Mi 9 can come with MIUI 10 box based on Android 9 pie. The primary camera is expected to be a 48-megapixel shooter in the rear, while the second 12-megapixel camera and the third to 3D sensor will also be part of the setup. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor on the phone.

Coming with a leaked image of Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition, posted by a blogger on Weibo, we see a quad-rear camera and a ‘transparent’ back panel like its predecessor. The post says that the smartphone will have more memory than Xiaomi Mi 9, although it is uncertain if both RAM and storage are being referenced. Mi 9 Explorer Edition is priced between CNY 3,499 (about Rs 36,900) and CNY 4,999 (about Rs 52,600).
